Announcement - Ant : Swarm Intelligence (Early Access)


This is my first announcement on Ant : Swarm Intelligence. I decided the first announcement should tell you guys about a few mechanics and things in the game that I want to change/tell you about.

The game features the "blue ants" and the "red ants", both are trying to fight for dominance. The red ants have a darker tone of pheromone and the blue ants have a lighter shade. When an ant reaches the red circle in the middle, the food, they will report back to their ant hill(the blue ants' hill is on the left, the red ants' on the right), placing down blue pheromones. The anthill and food graphics don't exactly look good, or recognizable so I will 100% change that in the future update. When the ant touches a blue pheromone(btw they don't sense the enemy's pheromones), they will automatically point towards the food and go after it. This mechanism, I want to fix, because for example an ant might make a trail on the far side of the food. when the ant goes back to the anthill, it will sense its own blue pheromone trail and go toward the food. The ant will go straight for the food, not following the trail. Not realistic, right? So, definitely on the list of major things to change. 

Also, pheromone decay might be a good idea. All the random green pheromone help create lag, and pheromone decay is real in ant colonies. 

I'm also not gonna change the fight mechanism as I haven't seen any bugs or errors with it, but I could add a fight animation.
